Dehydration

Water makes up about 80% of our body. By the time we are thirsty our body has already become dehydrated. The amount of water a person should drink varies based on factors such as gender, weight, age, and their health. The HydroTracker combats dehydration by allowing cancer patients to track their hydration level through a calibratable smart water bottle that tracks water intake, wearable sensor that monitors hydration level, and an app.

Cancer

Cancer patients and suffer from dehydration due to the side effects of cancer treatments. The side effects of chemotherapy such as diarrhea and vomiting can happen at unexpected times. Therefor rapid and unexpected dehydration is common in these patients.

Other Illnesses

Research is curently being done to find other chronic illness that cause dehydration and determine how the system can improve their quality of life.
